4. Paris.

You know, I've always had a fondness for Paris, I love it there. I suggest that you see as many things as you can and eat in cafes. The cafes always have the best coffee.

[Fake!Fail! Private! to Bertie.]
Bertie, darling, I think we should stay at the Mandarin Oriental Paris on the Rue Saint-Honoré. Suites, I think. And cars with drivers.

I could do with a bit of shopping.

What are the chances that there will be a lab like my delightful husband had?

Unless it's been shut down after his unexpected demise... I'd say quite high.

I'd also say that you may have to wear a disguise while we're here.

Planning on it, Rex, the Mandarin has excellent staff that will come to my room. And I've already put my contacts in.

Blond and contacts; it worked once.

Can always try it. Hmm. If McCullen is still alive somehow, it might be worth attempting to contact him as well.

Mandarin Oriental...I don't think I know that one. It must be new. [New for Bertie means built after 1928...] But never let it be said that Bertram Wooster is not adventuresome and willing to try new things.

I usually prefer to drive myself, but the bally French drive on the wrong side of the road, so I suppose I'd best leave it to a professional.

So let's check in and then do a spot of shopping, what?

[Privateing up now.]

I think I want to get my hair done. I miss being a blond.

That sort of thing is done at a salon, yes? [The world of hair (beyond a simple trim and pomade) and cosmetics is mysterious to Bertie.]

They'll come to me and do it, Bertie. So much less tacky than doing it at a salon.

The joy of having money in Paris.

That's jolly good of them. I don't think I've ever had a barber come to me. It's like that Muhammad and mountain whatsits.

Could always have one come for you too. Shave, hair cut, mani, peti.

A proper hair cut and shave would be just the thing. Although I don't believe I've ever heard of a mani before, nor a peti.

Trust me, darling, once you've had one you'll wonder how you lived without it.

Good man, Bertie. Good man.
